To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place ideas and dreams before a crowd is to risk being called naive.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.

But risk must be taken,because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing,does nothing,has nothing, is nothing and becomes nothing.
They may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn,feel,change,grow,love,live.

The small poem above got me thinking about many things. I was surprised about the different human beings all of us could be if we just took calcualted risks. Don't we all, at times stop ourselves from doing something or being someone just for the fear of not being able to handle it?
Does fear stop us from taking that special step which will give us, that wonderful joy all of us crave for?
